Cari,

lo abbiamo saputo ufficialmente soltanto pochi minuti fa: Booking.com ha sviluppato una nuova politica per la gestione delle email dei clienti. Invece di inviare l'email in chiaro, viene comunicata un "alias" (per esempio: 12345@booking.com). Contattando il cliente a quell'indirizzo alias, Booking.com intercetta la vostra email e la gira al cliente.

In altre parole, Booking.com si pone come intermediario delle comunicazioni email.

La politica e' totalmente indipendente dal Channel Manager: anche accedendo alla extranet, l'indirizzo email riportato e' quello Alias. Questo vorrei che fosse digerito perche' siamo nella scomoda posizione per cui, ogni volta che le politiche di un'OTA cambiano, c'e' sempre qualcuno che ovviamente ci incolpa!!

As you may already be aware, scammers are increasingly trying to find ways to gain access to online platforms like Booking.com. They try to use email addresses, as well as links, attachments and images in e-mails, to illegally gain access to the private information of our customers and properties.

Because we, Booking.com are committed to protecting our guests and partners from these kinds of email-based attacks, we are providing our partners with two features to create an even more secure and convenient method for them to communicate directly with their Booking.com guests.

Starting next week, guest and partner email addresses will be made anonymous in order to provide an extra level of security. Regular email traffic between partner and guest is still possible. The difference is that the identity, of partner and guests, will be protected. In addition, it will no longer be possible to send links, images, attachments, or anything of this nature. This ensures that sender and receiver are less susceptible to online scammers.

In addition, partners will also be able to actively start the conversation via their extranet. Under each reservation the partner will find a button which allows direct e-mail communication with their future guest.

Our goal with these features is to enable easy and convenient communication, while providing an enhanced level of protection partners and guests.
